Got the main stuff done - downloaded games.

Spent about 3 hours at work yesterday getting ready for the new school year.  We have a new science teacher, so I'm dividing stuff up with her so she will have what she needs to teach.  The only problem with it is that everything is spread out all over my room, so I'll be the one cleaning it all up.  Actually, that's a good thing.  I need to go through my stuff anyway to figure out what I need to order and what I need to throw out.  I'm also trying to get my experiments ordered and together so I can find them when I need them.  Plan on heading out this afternoon to do some more work.  Hopefully, by the time school starts, I'll be organized and ready!  I'll take a pic of my room so you have some idea of what needs to be done.

Getting ready for a new year of teaching!

I've been getting prepared for the new year of classes.  This coming semester I will have two honor's classes and two regular classes with no planning period.  Because I'll have no planning, I've been going in to school every day for a few hours to prepare.  I have to get my lessons onto Powerpoint now, since we've gone "digital".  This year all students will have laptops, which should be interesting.  I'm sure they'll get really good at multi-tasking (texting, email, tweeting, and looking at porn, while appearing to be paying attention).  My tablet I'm supposed to use this year didn't work, so I sent it to central office to be replaced and I still don't have it.  Oh, and we've received no training whatsoever in how to teach with the laptops.  I haven't even been trained on how to use my tablet to control the overhead projector.  So, looks like another year of being completely unprepared, right?  I'm also going to try to do better at posting on here.  So, stay tuned!
